چکیده

Abstract We present a new approach to study the one-dimensional Dirac equation in background of position-dependent mass m . Taking Fermi velocity v f be local variable, we explore resulting structure coupled equations and arrive at an interesting constraint turning out inverse square address several solvable systems that include free particle, shifted harmonic oscillator, Coulomb nonpolynomial potentials. In particular, supersymmetric quantum mechanics context, upper partner effective potential yields form for quadratic functional choice velocity.

A Z-dependent variational solution of Thomas-Fermi-Dirac equation

Using Thomas-Fermi-Dirac equation within the exchange-correlation scheme and a Z-dependent trial solution, the ground state binding energy for neutral, positively, and negatively charged atoms are calculated. Comparing to the results obtained in earlier works, the values of the binding energy estimated here for both light and heavy atoms agree nicely with the Hartree-Fock values. We have also c...

Solution of the Dirac equation with position-dependent mass in the Coulomb field

We obtain exact solution of the Dirac equation for a charged particle with position-dependent mass in the Coulomb field. The effective mass of the spinor has a relativistic component which is proportional to the square of the Compton wavelength and varies as 1/r . It is suggested that this model could be used as a tool in the renormalization of ultraviolet divergences in field theory. The discr...

Fermi-Dirac-Fokker-Planck Equation: Well-posedness & Long-time Asymptotics

A Fokker-Planck type equation for interacting particles with exclusion principle is analysed. The nonlinear drift gives rise to mathematical difficulties in controlling moments of the distribution function. Assuming enough initial moments are finite, we can show the global existence of weak solutions for this problem. The natural associated entropy of the equation is the main tool to derive uni...

Space dependent Fermi velocity in strained graphene.

We investigate some apparent discrepancies between two different models for curved graphene: the one based on tight-binding and elasticity theory, and the covariant approach based on quantum field theory in curved space. We demonstrate that strained or corrugated samples will have a space-dependent Fermi velocity in either approach that can affect the interpretation of local probe experiments i...

Non-local corrections to the Dirac equation

The Dirac equation is not semisimple. We therefore construct it as a contraction of a simple theory. The underlying simple structure is necessarily purely algebraic and non-local. It consists of many isomorphic distinguishable qubits with Clifford-Wilczek statistics and spin h̄/2, having a Clifford algebra with 6N generators as algebra of observables. The quantum imaginary ih̄ arises as the vacuu...
